Effectiveness of Communication at New Mowasat Hospital (NMH), Kuwait: A QualityImprovement Initiative to Reduce Patient Safety Risks Associated with Handover

New Mowasat Hospital strengthened clinical handover communication through standardized critical-content requirements, staff training, auditing, feedback and PDCA-based improvement. Compliance increased from 76% to 90%, while no communication-related incidents were reported during the post-implementation period. Defining essential information and reinforcing structured communication improved patient safety and supported NMH’s Zero Harm objective.
